Me too. Cubase still says 5.1.1

I need help, I have a computer (notebook) with Win 7 64 bits. I have already installed Cubase 5 AIR (in this website) and then the update 5.1.2 (in this website too). Both of them, doesn’t work properly. When I try to recording something with guitar (an unique track of audio mono, without plugins), there is an impulsive noise…

I have installed the Cubase 5.1.1 (without update to 5.1.2), in another computer and it works perfectly. But this computer is running with Win XP 32 bits.

The same audio card (UX2 Line 6) in both systems, but diferent O.S. I can’t change the O.S Win 7 to XP in the first one because it is a recently Notebook…

Then, the problem is the O.S and probably the reason are the 64 bits system.

Then… Is there any Cubase AIR soft that works in Win 7 64 bits properly? Please, I need it! If there is none, does anyone could tell me how to fix it?

Acabo de escribir en el foro de Line 6 para ver qué pasa con los drivers. Por lo poco que leí, parece que es cierto lo que comentas. El problema es el driver de la UX2 de Line 6, no funciona bien con Win7 de 64 bits.

Tengo instalado ASIO4ALL, pero como comprenderás, no me interesa usarlo teniendo una tarjeta dedicada…”es lo que me faltaba” xDD

Pues ya han sacado un nuevo driver:

This release adds support for 64-bit Windows platforms. OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7

Sólo que no aparece que sea para mi UX2, sólo para “Variax USB Interface”.

Yo lo bajé y lo instalé y el problema del ruido impulsivo desapareció, pero apareció otro…cada 30s el audio se “ralentiza” cuando grabas xDDD…

En fin…esto va para largo!

Pues si, parece que el problema era la latencia, que estaba muy baja y consumía demasiada CPU.
Pero sigo mosqueado, porque este portátil es más o menos igual de potente que el de sobremesa, con el que no tuve el más mínimo problema y ya he hecho proyectos enteros con varios plugins y pistas.
Yo creo que es un poco de todo. Los drivers no están optimizados para 64 bits (a lo mejor directamente no lo hay y por eso tengo q subir la latencia), el S.O, y la gestión de latencia vs CPU.

EN fin, gracias por la ayuda! Pero estoy algo decepcionado :S
