Zebra is our wireless modular synthesizer. It combines many different types of synthesis with a powerful modulation engine. Imagine – you can create any additive, freehand or spline-based waveform you like, apply a vast selection of spectral effects, morph between those waves and send them through classic synth filters. Perhaps use that entire sound as modulator for an FM oscillator, or route it through a comb filter – the building block of physical modeling synthesis. All generator modules, all signal paths, all effects are stereo.

The oscillators, filters and envelopes closely model components found in some of the great monophonic and polyphonic synthesizers of yesteryear. Modules can be mixed and matched so you can build hybrids, but what sets DIVA apart is the sheer authenticity of the analogue sound. This comes at the cost of quite a high CPU-hit, but we think it was worth it: Diva is the first native software synth that applies methods from industrial circuit simulators (e.g. PSpice) in realtime. The behaviour of zero-delay-feedback filters when pushed to the limit clearly demonstrates the advantages of this groundbreaking approach.

Tyrell N6 VSTi v2 Released!

AMAZONA.de and Urs Heckmann have released Tyrell N6 v2, an updated version of one of the best freeware virtual synthesizers out there! The new version introduces an analog chorus effect (modeled after the Roland JUNO-60 chorus) and a new GUI.

Confident in the NEXUS SIX TYRELL is 2.0 in a completely new layout that was designed by the bassist Marcus Steinlechner. Black faces, framed in brushed metal, bright blue lettering and a swimming pool-colored display type is indeed cool, but the sound is exactly the opposite.

A new addition is the analog chorus that has the broad, warm chorus of a Roland Juno-60 modeled. Above all, these are the subtle sonic enhancements that make it sound TYRELL N6 2.0 or analog, and thus more realistic.

Free Soundset for U-HE Zebralette

AIRLOCK is a soundset made up of patches for U-HE’s free freeware synthesizer Zebralette.

Bazille is a modular FM/PD synth, part of the upcoming Berlin Modular System currently being developed by Urs Heckmann. It is still in alpha phase, and the current version of the plugin is free for download and testing. Bazille v0.4 alpha is available both for Windows and Mac users.

ZebraCM is quite heavily stripped version of great VST Plug-in U-he Zebra2 (which costs 199 $). It has less oscillators, lfos and all other stuff I can’t count ;) Also the GUI is different – Zebra CM has classic analogue style design while Zebra2 is more modern. But in the end – it doesn’t really matter.
