Neev 81 SideCar Console

Custom designed and hand-made, the sidecar console is based on eight legendary vintage Class AB mic-preamps and equalizers which come from the 70’s era “with a lot of character”. The summing amp has a vintage design of pure Class A with Carnhill transformers which gives that “in your face” Neev sound. A professional studio requested me to build this sidecar console for their dance-techno production, choosing the rich, dynamics and fat sound it has. The Mojo series are samplings to give you the tone of the hardware that allows for a hybrid approach . Simply put, with Eqs and compressors you can use your favourite emulation plugin to control the action and curves and just use my presets to add the much needed clarity, 3D quality, dynamics, warmth etc. It is my attempt to allow you to use your favourite plugin but to add the mojo that plugins lack.

Sooper Time Tube + BBD Delay/Reverb

This collection includes effects sampled from three sources. The ‘Time Tube’ unit passes audio through lengths of hose using speakers and pickups, to produce a delay of a few milliseconds, creating a Haas ‘doubling’ effect where the delay isn’t heard as a distinct echo, but instead blends with the dry signal in a way that thickens the sound. Some people love it for vocals. The delay actually comes from the amount of time it takes the sound to travel through the hose. It offers stereo and mono modes, which are different. I’ve sampled both. The other effects were sampled from two home stereo system units: the Pioneer SA60, and the Sansui SA-710. They were both designed to add ambience to the music you play on your system, using bucket brigade delay chips. The SA60 can do a really nice ‘duet’ effect, which is a short delay good for doubling, similar to the ‘Time Tube’ effect.

EBeQ is the rare vintage germanium program equalizer built for BBC broadcast console in the ’70 years. The unit has been totally refurbished and re calibrated since it was improperly racked into fake Abbey Road case using telephone cables and low quality components. Now, with audio grade electronics and Mogami premium cables, this fantastic EQ is returned to shine with his stunning lows, wide midrange and an incredibly airy top end, with the full germanium character and coils sweetness. This unit share the same circuitry of the EMI Abbey Road mastering console TG12410.
