Join analog synth expert Albert Rizzo Schettino for a detailed Novation Bass Station II video course! In this Bass Station II course, Alberto will not only familiarize you with all of the synth’s components, controls, and parameters, but he’ll also share many tips and techniques he’s learned during his extensive experience with this legendary modern monosynth. By the time you complete this Bass Station II course, you’ll be well on your way to creating your own custom bass, lead, and arp tones with skill and confidence! These Bass Station II videos are designed for new Bass Station II users, but there’s plenty of info more intermediate-level users as well. After welcoming you to the course, Alberto begins with a brief overview of the synth’s layout and main components. Though it can look dizzying to the synth beginner, Alberto methodically explains each section in an easy-to-grasp fashion that will bring even the complete neophyte up to speed. Then it’s on to some of the most central components of the Bass Station II, starting with the Mixer, which is where you’ll control the levels of the various components, followed by a look at the Oscillator and LFO sections, both of which are hugely integral to the sounds created by the synth. Next, you’ll fully explore the Arpeggiator/Sequencer, which you’ll use when creating those dazzling arp effects or sequenced bass or lead runs. You’ll see how to use the various Arpeggiator patterns as well as create your own custom sequences (up to 32 notes), both of which can add energy and momentum to your productions.
One thing to notice is that Wusik Station V8 is actually a NEW product. I didn’t just took V7 code and made it cross-platform. No, I started from zero, reusing Wusik 8000 code which is cross-platform and uses modern coding. This presented some problems, but also introduced a lot of new great features that V7 did not have, but also removed some features that V7 had and now I need to work on.
The Vinyl Carving Station was inspired by a very niche process of cutting into the locked groove of a record in regular intervals (usually using a stick-on template) to produce killer glitch loops from the irregular bumping of the stylus over the cuts/indentations We sampled hundreds of these sounds and hacked our way through tons of old charity shop vinyl in the process. We then built the friendliest interface we could design in Kontakt and filled it with the best of these sounds. The result was the Vinyl Carving Station and we’re super proud that you can get results just like cutting the locked grooves but tempo synced to your DAW and fully programmable by you or randomly generated with a single click. If you want to dig deeper, we’ve added some powerful FX processing to get a fully production-ready sound instantly and keyswitched preset slots to help live and studio programming. It’s super simple and super powerful.

Creator is our music and spot scheduling software. It is used to design your station format using rotations of music categories and spot groups (jingles, ads, etc). Rotations may be scheduled for specific hours of the day giving you full control over what types of music or programs are scheduled for different times of the day or days of the week. Creator is capable of producing much more controlled and sophisticated scheduling than a basic random shuffle of your music. Your listening audience will appreciate the difference.
The Space Station UM282 is a faithful simulation of the Ursa Major Space Station SST-282, an early 80’s echo and reverb unit. Unlike other reverberation devices from that era, the Space Station used delay techniques to transform a mono signal into a new reverberated stereo signal. Where traditional delay units of the past have only one or two taps, the Space Station has many: 8 taps are used for listening and the others are used to synthesize the reverberation. That’s why the Space Station has been the secret weapon of many producers and engineers over the years.
